Oh, I went to the doctor yesterday and everything is still looking good so far. Next appointment we will talk about labor and delivery she said. I think we will have another ultrasound then to see how big Vince is. I'm really anxious to know how much he weighs now. He feels huge, although I'm sure most pregnant women think that. I have officially turned into the blueberry from Willy Wonka now. What with my basketball belly and all the swelling I have been doing, the kids at school are going to have to start rolling me down the hallway when we have to go places. Either that or I need a wheelchair. At this point, I would not be opposed.
I had to buy some more shoes today at Target because NONE of my other shoes fit me now. My favorite sandals that mom got me that are super comfy cut into the tops of my feet so bad that they are not going to work anymore. :( I'm really sad about that. I have literally tried on every shoe in my closet (and every shoe in the world it feels like) and none of them fit over my fat feet. You have to see these feet in person to really understand the amount of swelling. It's kind of disturbing. Dr. B. said that as long as my blood pressure is ok then it's really not a huge issue since it happens to most pregnant women at some point. She gave me some tips on how to alleviate the swelling but nothing seems to work with me but staying off of them for a couple of days. My hands literally have fat rolls and it hurts to make a fist. As a matter of fact, it pretty much hurts to do anything with my hands. Eat, sleep, put makeup on, write. I've been trying to finish my thank you notes but can only get a couple done at a time because my hands go numb. I asked her if that part would go away after the baby was born and she said most of the time yes but she has had some patients who suffered permanent nerve damage from all the swelling. Yikes! She said she could put me on a low dose of steroids and that would help with the swelling if I wanted to at my next appointment. I should've just asked for the prescription then but I was kind of in lala land and thinking about other questions I wanted to ask.
Needless to say, I feel super attractive right now. Oh, and I'm pretty sure that my nose has gotten wider and bigger so everything looks pretty awesome. On the plus side, my hair is super thick and getting long. My nails have been really nice throughout this whole pregnancy and I haven't really broken out that much at all. See, I'm not all cynical. I can't wait until Vince gets here and I can hold him in my arms and not in my belly! Mom says that it's so much easier to lug the baby around in your womb than in your arms but I don't care. That's what they make strollers for! :)
Okay, well this was supposed to be a really short post. Sorry about that. I'm looking forward to another shower this weekend at mom's and getting to spend Mother's Day with mine. Then off to Mike and Sherry's for a Mother's Day lunch on Sunday. I'm sure I'll post more after the shower. I'm like a post-aholic these days!

I have loved this thing since I saw it online!
You are not the blueberry girl from Willie Wonka - you're a short pregnant lady who is healthy and going to have a healthy baby - what more could we want? I think you're beautiful even though you can't see that right now. You have a little human growing in your belly with ears, eyes, toes, fingers, etc - how amazing is that. I'm looking forward to mothers day with my daughter who is now a mom. How exciting. I love you!
ReplyDeleteYou are gorgeous. Your feet do look VERY uncomfortable, but you are hanging in there like the trooper that you are. I hope you get to go on some kind of leave early though...you need some rest. And yeah, Children's Place sales are quite addicting :) but their clothes are so worth every penny, they wash so well!!!
