We had yet another shower this past weekend in Abilene at my Mom's house. I think we might be the most spoiled people on the planet and I am fully aware of it and very thankful. It was a shower for me and Jill. Jill is due July 23rd so our babies will barely be a month apart. It will be so fun having two new babies in the family at the same time. :)
Everything was great again...food, decor, cake, company....everything! We got lots of great stuff and I of course am posting pics of some of it. I know I post a ridiculous amount of pictures of "things" but I want to remember everything and this is my place to put them. Silly, I know. :)
This was also my first official Mother's Day. I know he's not out yet, but I'm pretty sure there is a baby in there so I guess it's safe to say I'm a mom now. Almost anyway. :) Keith was sneaky and got me a beautiful white and black diamond necklace for my first Mother's Day. He said he didn't know if he wanted to wait until Vince was born or give it to me now but he chose now. I'm glad he gave it to me now. I love it!! I also received an awesome picture frame from Mandi, Kelly, Lewis, and Josh. Can't wait to get a picture of Vince or us in that one. We also went to Mike and Sherry's house for a Mother's Day lunch. There were so many great people there and we had lots of good food and fun.
The no school part of this post is because I get to have off for the next two days and all weekend because of all the swelling I've been doing. I didn't feel very good on Wednesday and my feet and legs were huge! Occasionally I ask the school nurse to check my blood pressure just to make myself feel better and it was higher than normal so I called my doctor's office and the nurse told me just to go ahead and come in to get checked out. Dr. B. wasn't in that day so I talked to the Nurse Practicioner who I really like too. My blood pressure turned out to be ok but she noticed my swelling of course...who wouldn't...and asked how I was feeling. Well, I just kinda broke down and told her how miserable I was and how I just didn't feel like I'd gotten a chance to rest and get this swelling to reduce at all. We talked for awhile and she decided that I needed a couple of days off to rest and relax and do nothing. I don't think I've ever been more relieved. So, I get to rest for 4 whole days. I'm not on bed rest but she did tell me that most of the time she wants me lying on the couch with my feet up to see if that helps with the swelling. So far, it has done wonders and it hasn't even been a full day yet. My feet and ankles actually have some definition now and some of the rolls are gone. They feel so much better too. Can't wait to see what 3 more days can do. :) We go back to the doctor on Tuesday so I will get to update on Vince then. We should find out how much he weighs and if my due date will still be June 14th. I can't wait to see him again and see what parts of him are poking me. 31 more days or less...hopefully not more...and then he'll be here. Yay!!
My new mommy necklace. Thanks babe!
This is perfect!
This was on the table at the shower. Scout had one also. :)
Look at this perfect little chair that Kelly and Lewis got Vince. It's one of my faves. Thanks guys!
His first swim outfit. Thanks Aunt Mandi!
I was really hoping someone would get me this blanket. It goes with the rest of the bedding. Thanks Kris, Jill, and Kam!
Jill said Scout has one very similar to this in pink. Can't wait to take their picture in it.
Keith loves this one. It is cute. Thanks Pat, Yvonne, and Emily.
Vince's first bible. :)
This came from my first shower from my friend April's mom, Mary. It came in the mail. It is a diaper bag clutch. Kind of like a mini diaper bag that has a place to put diapers, wipes and even has a foldout changing pad in it. I love it! Very cute.
We got tons of other stuff but I've already washed a lot of it and put it up. Mom, Mike, and Jonne got Keith and I lots of essentials that we hadn't gotten yet along with a gift card to Target to get a little travel stroller that I wanted. Thanks for everything. We love it all!
Oh, and I almost forgot! Mike's mom, Jo, is making Vince the cutest giraffe quilt. Here is a picture of what it will look like. I can't wait until we get to see it in person. Thanks Jo for working so hard to make us something that we will treasure forever! :)
Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteYou do such a great job with this blog. It makes us all feel a part of everything. I know all of us enjoy reading your funny posts and love seeing all the pictures. Yes you are spoiled but I would rather call it blessed to have so many loving family members and friends that care about you, Keith and Vince. I can't wait until he gets here. Enjoy your long weekend - you've earned it. Love, Mom
