At his 6 month checkup, Maddox weighed 18 pounds and 4 ounces. He definitely does not miss a meal. He is so chunky! :) I just started feeding him solid food. His first food was avocado. He didn't really know what to think about that. Then we started with the traditional baby food. He seems to love most of it. I will give him pieces of stuff that we have now too. I'm trying a little bit of the baby led weaning ( just offering them whole soft foods and they either eat it or play with it or both) and purees. He likes both. He is very interested in what we are eating and always tries to grab it from me or his daddy. He is still getting breast milk only. I exclusively pump and I only have to do it 3 times a day to get all that he needs. But quite honestly, if he didn't have aversions to dairy products, I would have stopped a couple of weeks ago. Pumping gets old real quick. I don't want to start the school year pumping but I will if I have to. We are over half way to the one year mark so I guess I will try to make it.
Maddox is a very happy baby and he has gotten over his aversions to meeting new people. He is obsessed with his brother. He is constantly watching him and laughing or smiling, all the while his brother pretty much ignores him. Vince will dance around and be silly and Maddox just watches and giggles and screams right along with him. He is way more vocal and more interested in moving than Vince was. Obviously I guess. Vince didn't have someone to watch all the time. Maddox is also exposed to more of the outside world than Vince was and he loves it. We take him places that we would have never taken Vince this young. I was reading an article on birth order and whether it plays a role in personality and the profession that they choose in the long run. It said that the majority of CEO's of big companies and Drs. and Lawyers etc, were almost always an only child or first born. And the baby of the family is usually more spontaneous and is the dare devil of the family. Mostly because the parents are so much more rigid with the first one and more lax with each subsequent child. I will say that is totally true with me. I'm not so scared about everything and I'm pretty confident in the decisions that I make for Maddox.
Maddox can sit up by himself for a little bit before toppling over. He babbles and giggles all the time and he has to know what is going on and what we are doing at all times. He loves his jumparoo now. We put him in it when Vince wants to jump on his mini trampoline that he got for his birthday, and he just bounces along with his bubba. So cute. He is a pretty relaxed baby unless we are in the car and he is ready to be out of it. He starts grunting and groaning (that's our warning) and then comes the fake crying and whining and then it's the full on scream crying. It's quite lovely. :)
We love both of our boys so much and are very blessed to have them. Vince loves his brother when he wants to. He always asks where Maddox is when he can't see him and he always kisses him night night and tells him he loves him. Other than that, he pretty much just ignores him. One day soon that won't be the case and they will both be running around this house like crazy banshees.
Oh and one more thing. Vince is in the process of potty training. We've got the poopy doopy ( what Vince calls it down) but we are still working on the pee pee. And we not only have to get a sticker every time we go but we have to get a dance party and a video game. The dance party was my idea and the video game was daddy's. I regret both but hey whatever works right? The dance party consists of playing Call Me Maybe and dancing and skipping around the house. Good workout for me but I am sooooo tired of that stupid song. He heard that song ONE time in the car with me and from that day on that is the only song he wants to listen too. Uuuggghhh! I've tried to get him to listen to new ones but noooo, it's always that one. The video game consists of me playing Super Mario Brothers on the Wii and him acting like he's playing on his controller. We only play for a little bit but we now have to do this every day. Once he gets his big boy underwear and he's got this potty training stuff down pat, that will change, but for now, I'm not messin with it!
Maybe I'll try to a blog earlier than two months next time. But at least I take lots of pictures!! :)

I can't figure out why some of them aren't turned because they are turned on my computer. Weird! Oh well. :)
