It's Been Awhile

Can we say slacker?? I have been awful at keeping up with the blog this time around. Poor Maddox doesn't get near as much documentation as Vince did. I guess that's how it usually goes with the second child. Here are my belly pics. At least I kept up with those pretty regularly.

If all goes as planned, we will meet this little one in 20 days! I can't wait. This pregnancy hasn't been as hard as the first one but it has not been easy with an energetic two year old, that's for sure.

So far everything has gone ok with this pregnancy. Minus the carpal tunnel, which I was able to keep at bay by massaging certain pressure points in my back and arms thanks to mom. Over the past couple of weeks though it started to get really bad. I had about a week of very little sleep and was starting to get really cranky! When I was pregnant with Vince, my doctor gave me steroids to help with the inflammation and that gave me some relief and allowed me to sleep a little so I asked for that again. The first night I started the steroids I was able to sleep through the night only waking up to go to the bathroom. No waking up from the numbness. It was great. I'm almost through with them and know that I'll probably just go back to no sleep for awhile but this little bit of relief will be enough to get me through to the end. :)

Maddox does know how to make his momma miserable though. He has been laying transverse for quite some time now. Which means that he's laying horizontally instead of vertically like he is supposed to. His butt is on one side and his head is on the other. It is extremely uncomfortable and does not allow me to bend down or over very well at all. Not like it's easy regardless but this just makes it worse. He moves quite often which is always a welcome sensation since it let's me know he's ok.

He is growing right on track with his due date. I have no idea how much he weighs since I haven't had any other ultrasounds since the gender one and I don't anticipate getting any more since my delivery will be c-section. As long as I am measuring right on track, I don't think they care to know how much the baby weighs.

I am not near as nervous about meeting this one as I was with Vince. Keith and I both feel a lot more comfortable since we know what we are doing now. I'm hoping the recovery will be better than last time as well since I know what to expect. We'll see. :)

I haven't gained as much weight with this one nor have I been swollen like with Vince. I have started to swell just in the last week. My feet have been so much better this time around. They are getting swollen now but only at the end of the day and not near like they were before. Although, it's getting harder and harder to get my boots on. They help with the swelling because they put pressure on the legs and feet. They swell a lot more when wearing flip flops or something. I thought I wasn't going to be able to get them off yesterday. I think Keith's favorite thing to do is struggle to get my boots off for me. :)

My girlfriends threw us a baby shower last month. We ate lunch at Gloria's and then got pedicures. It was a great day! Maddox got lot's of cute stuff. Here are some pics from the shower.

It was the perfect second time around shower! Thanks girls and everyone who came!

Here are some of the things that I have in Maddox's room so far and also some pictures of a couple of the shower gifts. I figure, he needs to have pictures of "things" like his older brother! :)

Here is the awesome blanket that Grams made for Maddox.

My favorite lovey.

Another pic of the blanket.

A car seat blanket cover that Kristi got.

Mom bought this. I'm really into the blue, gray, and white this time around.

Blurry, but here are some of his clothes that we hung up in the awesome armoire that my friend Emily gave us. He has a lot more clothes in the drawers too. This child will have tons of clothes thanks to his brother.

Going home outfit.

Mom got us this bouncer. Keith thinks it's girlie because it has a little pink in it. Whatever. It's more blue and gray and it looks super comfy! :)

Vince loves these shoes. He's always trying to put them on.

See?

So everything with Maddox and I are going ok right now. Can't wait to meet the little man and see Vince's reaction when he sees his brother for the first time. He'll probably just ignore him at first but he might give him kisses or something. We shall see. :)

  1. Such a good mama to keep up with the posts. I can't wait to meet my new grandson.

Tell him to hurry up so I can see his sweet face and give him kisses.
