Christmas 2010

Our first Christmas has come and gone and with it came lots of pictures, presents, and family.  We had a great time seeing everyone and celebrating with them. I wish we could have been two places at once but instead, on Christmas Eve, we got to spend a little bit of time with each family.  First up was Grams and Papa's. We got there around 2:30 and stayed until about 5:30. We got to open our presents and nibble on the best Red Velvet cake balls on the planet.  Thank you Marcey! Can you tell that I can't stop thinking about them? :)  Vince got tons of cool things. He got a bunch of board books from Grams and Papa. We've already read most of them at least once. He gets really excited when I read to him. And then he grabs the book and tries to eat it. EVERYTHING goes in the mouth these days.   The Safford clan got him a Vtech book that he loves. It talks to him and lights up. They also got him some cool pajamas. We got to play with Brady, Angelina, and Cirstyn before opening presents. I think Vince even got a kiss from cousin Cirstyn. :)    Marcey, Jake, Luke, and Lily got Vince some Longhorn pjs. Daddy loves them. Nanny got Vince an outfit that I can't wait to get him in.  And Brad and Madi got Vince a Cowboys t-shirt. He's going to be wearing that soon too.

Next up was Mandi's with my side of the family. We got there around 6:15 and had waffles and bacon. It's a tradition and when we get together for Christmas, even if it's not on Christmas Eve, we always eat that. Yum, Yum! We got to play with Scout and Kamden for a little bit before opening presents. Scout is 5 months old and just the cutest thing ever. She's so dainty and holding her is like holding a feather compared to Vince. I love it! :) Kamden is 10 and was the entertainment.  He was keeping the babies entertained as well as the adults with his "happy dance." Too funny!  Scout didn't last long since she hadn't had a nap that day but Vince lasted long enough for us to open his presents and some of the others.  I think he finally went to sleep around 8:45-9. That is really late for him. He slept in the car on the way over but he woke up and was fine when we got there. He got lots of cool stuff here too. He got a raccoon hat, Ribbert the Scentsy frog, and a cool plastic coated bib with his name on it from Aunt Mandi. From Aunt Kelly and Uncle Lew he got a Sing-a-majig and the neatest spoon on the planet that holds baby food in it and feeds him all at the same time. From Aunt Jill, Uncle Kris, Kam, and Scout he got a cute giraffe toy that vibrates across the floor and some really cute clothes and a pirate hat. I'm glad we got some hats because I really have been needing to get some but couldn't find any I liked. Uncle Rick got Vince a pig book. Pigs are also a tradition on the Callaway (mom's) side of the family. One year my uncle Rick got everyone refrigerator pigs. When you opened the fridge, the pig oinked at you. :)  So ever since then, all her brothers and her have pig wars. Very fitting that we got a pig book for Christmas. It's Olivia Claus. Cute. Granny Jan and Daddy Mike got him lots of noisy light up toys. He loves them also. :)  Mom started an ornament tradition with him. He's going to get a Santa every year and Scout is going to get a snowman. I still get angels even though mom told me I was done. I guess Granny Betty just won't let her be done with it and that's fine with me. I love getting my angel every year. :)

We had a wonderful Christmas and feel so lucky to have so many people that love and care for us. Thank you everyone for everything! Keith and I got lots of great stuff too but I won't bore you with the details of that. I'm sure I did enough of that with Vince's stuff. I have another post to do about Christmas dinner at Nan's with more pics but I'm too tired tonight. I'll get on that sometime soon I'm sure. Love to you all and I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
