Well, it wasn't near as bad as I thought it was gonna be. I was in such a rush this morning that I really didn't have time to think about it while getting him and me ready. But as soon as we got loaded up in the car and I started driving, it really started to hit me. I took him inside, gave Mama Carmen a note that I had translated from Google, gave her all his stuff including his Soothing Seahorse, gave him a kiss, and out the door I went. Got into the car, started driving off, and just kind of broke down. Just for a minute though. Very few tears but very choked up. Once I got to school 1 minute later, got out of the car and into my classroom, I was ok. The day flew by and it was lunch. I had Leti (our administrative assistant at school) call Mama Carmen and ask how he was doing. She talked to her forever! :) She said that he was just fine and proceeded to tell her everything they had done so far. He ate, played, went to sleep, woke up, walked around with Mama Carmen while she told him (in Spanish) where they were and introduced him to the house and the other kids. Then her two daughters, who live next door and also watch kids, came over with the kids and met the "new baby" and then he was about to eat lunch. So cute. I just love her. Even though I can't actually carry on a conversation with her or understand what she is saying to my baby, just the way she says it and the way she holds him just gets me. She kept calling him "Mi amour" which means my love in Spanish. How cute is that?? She had 8 kids of her own and has been keeping kids for forever. When I first met her, she told me that she would treat him like one of her own and that she would hold him while she was feeding him and give him lots of love. I mean, what more could you ask for right?? I do feel better that I found the Google translator thing though. Or mom found it and told me about it. That way I can write down what I want to tell her and have it translated into Spanish for me. Pretty cool. Anywho, I picked him up at 3:45 and off we went. We spent all night together, ate, had a bath, rocked to sleep, and now I'm pooped and going to bed. I'll leave you with some pics of our bath and 6 month pjs. Yes, I said 6 MONTH pjs. What??? The 3 months are just to short for him. :(
