Friends

Mr. Boy has officially been at the babysitter for two weeks now and it hasn't been that bad.  School this week was pretty good and I think I'm going to love my kiddos.  I have three classes of math with social studies for my homeroom class in the afternoon.  Luckily most kids love math at this age so they have been pretty focused.  Reading and Writing on the other hand...not so bueno. :)  They'll get better though.  They always do.

Vince is almost 3 months old!  I keep saying this but really...where does the time go??  He doesn't hate tummy time as much anymore and he can sit in his bumbo seat now.  He can't really pick his head up but he sits in it without falling over so that's good.  We take it about 5 minutes at a time a couple times a day.  He does tummy time at Mama Carmen's too.  We bought him a tummy time mat that he loves.  He smiles at momma and daddy all the time now and turns his head when he hears our voice.  We eat it up of course. :)  He's really started talking to me lately.  Not just random noise now, it's like he's trying to form vowel sounds.  He sticks his tongue out ALL the time.  It's so cute.  One day he just noticed he had a tongue and it's been out ever since.  A couple of days ago he noticed his hand and he'll put it up in front of his face and just look at it.  So funny!  He's started noticing his toys too.  He has a favorite giraffe that hangs and has black, white, and red stripes on it's feet.  It plays music too and he could just stare at that thing for hours.  He's basically sleeping through the night too.  He goes down between 7:30 and 8 and sleeps until 4:30 to 5:00.  We have to get up that early to get everything ready for the day anyway so we've been getting some good sleep. We pretty much go to sleep right after he does.  It's ridiculous but we can't keep our eyes open much after that.  :)  That's what getting up at 4:00 will do to you. He's wearing 3-6 month clothes now.  He barely fits in his 3 month onesies.  Too fat and almost too long. :)  I just bought a bunch of clothes for him from The Children's Place online.  They were having a 30% off sale so how could I resist.  I buy waaaayyyy to many clothes for him but I never pay full price so it's not as bad as it could be. :)  The are fall/winter clothes 6-9 months.  I can't wait to get them because I bought him a couple of hats too.  I love hats on babies.

Helmet update: Keith took him last Wednesday to have him evaluated.  Their goal is to help us fix his head without a helmet so that's good.  He measured his head and told Keith that we needed to hold him more often, do tummy time more, use his bumbo seat as much as possible, and not to leave him in the car seat (which we don't ever anyways...are you kidding.  He hates that thing. :())  We try to do all the other things as much as we can.  We are also using our Noggin Nest everywhere we go and at home.  It fits in his swing, in his carseat, and on his Play gym mat.  I think his head looks a little better and people who don't see him everyday say it looks better too but I can't really tell.  Wishful thinking maybe?  We go back September 15th at 4:00.  Keith and I's anniversary. 3 years.  Happy Anniversary to us! :)  I'll leave you with some pictures of Mackie and Vince and some of Vince by himself and with his daddy.  Mom says I need to quit taking pictures and have Keith take some of Vince and I too.  Might help if I didn't look like dog poo everytime I decided to take pictures.

On a side note, my biological dad passed away last Saturday.  His 3 year battle with cancer ended finally and now he can  rest in peace.  Vince got to meet him and he got to meet Vince though and for that I am grateful.  I never really had a relationship with him until a couple of years ago and I don't know if you could consider it "father/daughter".  He was a sweet man and had good intentions I'm sure, but I didn't see much of him growing up. We went a 17 year span of not seeing or speaking to one another.  Vince, Keith and I went to visit him about a month and a half after Vince was born.  He wasn't doing too good then but he was still coherent and I'm really glad we went.  I didn't get to go to the funeral since school just started and Keith working and having to take care of Vince. Excuses I know, and some people will not understand why I didn't go but I didn't feel I needed to since I already said goodbye to him earlier.  I didn't need to see a body when he wasn't there anymore.  And maybe it's because it would have been like reliving my "dad's" death almost ten years ago from the same thing. I'm really good at supressing feelings and then one day they just burst out so we'll see how this goes.  I don't know but I just wanted to say something about it.
 Love you all,
Jen

Mackie just loves Vincey.  He always wants to be next to him.

I don't know that Mackie loves Vincey THIS much but we think it's funny. :)

What up homies?

My favorite.  Such bright blue eyes.  Just like Daddy.

His head is looking a little better I think. :)

  1. Hi - nice comments about Jim. You have had three dads that love you very much and I am grateful to all three for loving you. Love all the pictures - we need to see a picture of him and Mama Carmen together - along with more of you and Vincey poo. It looks like he and Mack will be good friends. Have fun tonight!
