Well, we finally went on our first road trip. We decided to go to mom and Mike's for the 4th because Granny Jan was having Vince withdrawals and I HAD to get out of this house for a day or so. We woke up early on Saturday because Vince needed a bath and we still had some things that needed to be packed. We did the majority of it the night before. Our plan was to leave at 11am and we pretty much stuck to that plan. It's a good thing we woke up early though because we used up every bit of that time to get ready. It's unbelievable how much stuff you need for ONE baby! So we left and really had no trouble with Vince whatsoever. He just slept the whole time. It's about a 2 and a half hour drive but of course we had to stop for gas and to get something to eat. He was great through everything. I was kind of worried because the last two times we have gone anywhere with him he has cried in the car. We had a great time at mom and Mike's. They had a big party since it was Josh's birthday too. I didn't really participate in the festivities very much. My main focus was getting some much needed uniterrupted sleep. I pumped all week to get enough milk to last Vince through the night and early morning so he could sleep in mom's room. :) I went to bed at 10 and didn't wake up until 6. Not even to go to the bathroom! It's amazing how little I am in there anymore. :) I had to pump seeing as my boobs were the size of small melons. I had never been engorged before and didn't understand what people really meant when they said it. Now I do and I don't want to do it again. I pumped almost 2 small bottles worth of milk. Anywho, I went back to bed until about 8:30 and it was awesome. I was definitely refreshed. Thanks mom and Mikey. Here are some pics of Vince's first 4th. I need to see that sweet boy :) Looks like you guys had a great 4th and I bet your Mom was glad to let you get some sleep :) And...girl once you're engorged once, you'll definitely wake up on the hour to empty those boobies...hurts like a mother, huh?!?!? I remember when it happened with Jols...and I pumped like you said 2 whole bottles, I then understood the importance of emptying the girls :) Can't wait till you get your pictures...speaking of...I need to burn your CD...Love you guys and give little Vinnie some sugars from his Blankenship Mandy :)
ReplyDeleteI loved the visit and glad you guys came. He was the star of the show for the women - Josh was still the star of the show for the party. I enjoyed having Vince in my room all night - when are you coming back so we can do it again?
