Keith and I went to the doctor last Monday and got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time. It was all very surreal to actually HEAR someone living inside of you. Keith and I were in awe. We didn't get to see baby Duncan this time but I already expected that so I wasn't too disappointed. The heartrate was 157. We keep trying to speculate whether we think it's a boy or a girl and I have been taking those ridiculous old wive's tales quizzes claiming they can tell you the gender of your baby. So far it has pretty much been right down the middle. Supposedly if your baby has a heartrate above 140, it's a girl. Chinese calendar says it's a boy. Half of the quizzes say boy and the other half say girl. Someone at work told me my butt was getting bigger so that means I'm having a boy. :) If you carry low it's a boy, high it's a girl. Geesh!! We obviously aren't putting any faith in these things...they are just fun until we actually find out the sex. We are getting very antsy. Or I guess I should say I'M getting very antsy. Keith just goes with the flow and doesn't seem to mind the wait. I go back and forth with both. I've only ever pictured myself with a girl but here recently I can see a boy too and that would be equally great. Gosh, what did people do before ultrasounds??? I know some people like to be surprised, and I get it, but not me! I need to be prepared and I soooo want to start buying baby clothes. I haven't yet but I go to the baby section every time I'm in a store with one.
I want to know what you think...is it a boy or a girl? Comment and let me know! :)
Stay tuned for a new belly pic!
Love,
Jen
You antsy...NEVER! I just don't understand why you can't wait to find out what the sex is...hmmm...jk
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I know that the carry low thing can't be true because, well, Cirstyn isn't a boy! Can't wait to see the next belly pic!!
Love you - Andrea
I vote for one of each! Doesn't matter if it's a boy or a girl, just healthy. :) I think it's funny that someone had the guts to tell you your butt was getting bigger - must have been a good friend - even I wouldn't have gone there. I can't wait until you really start showing, you're going to be so cute!!
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't a good friend...just a lady at work. Some people have no filter! :)
ReplyDeleteWoW...I can't believe you are almost 14 weeks...crazy! I can't make a prediction without a belly picture :) So...you know what that means :) Can't wait to see you at Christmas and rub that tummy :)
