He wanted a Minion birthday this year. Our house is becoming too small so we decided to have it our our community clubhouse. It worked out perfectly. We chose that because there is a playground outside of it. I was thinking since the party was early that it wouldn't be that hot. That was not the case. :) There were also some uninvited wasps that had set up shop underneath one of the slides. Vince and his friend Carson both got stung on the ankle. Fun times. I was proud of Vince because he still wanted to play outside after that. I figured he would be scared.
Tia Marcey made Vince's cake for him this year. We asked her on the off chance that she might say yes, and she did! I thought she would just do a basic sheet cake with a minion design on it but no, not Tia Marcey! She went above and beyond and made a 3D Minion cake. I was very impressed and so was Vince. This is exactly the type of cake he kept picking out and I kept pointing him toward the flat one. So thank you Tia Marcey. You rock!
Vince also wanted a pinata. A one-eyed minion pinata. He was very specific about this one-eyed minion thing. Maddox had to have a 2-eyed minion shirt and Vince had to have a one-eyed shirt. Everything else had to be one-eyed. Silly boy. We were able to find a one-eyed minion pinata and Granny Jan and Daddy Mikey offered to put some toys and candy in it. I had some candy as well since I had already purchased things to put in their goody bags. I just used the stuff I bought in the the pinata. The pinata we bought wasn't traditional. We didn't get a stick and beat the candy out of it. It had 8 strings on the bottom of it and each kid got one and pulled at the same time. We figured that would work out best and it did. Once the candy dropped to the floor, each kid got a goody bag and went to town.
It ended up being a great party and the clubhouse was comfortable enough to fit everyone in. Happy 4th birthday Mr. Boy! We love you so much!
