Church, iPad, and 26 Weeks

I took these pictures before church last weekend. He was pretty much ignoring me the whole time because he was watching T.V. I have to say his name like 8 times before he will answer me sometimes. I have to do that to Keith too. Must be a man thing. :)

I took these tonight while Vince was playing "his" iPad. He thinks all things electronic are his. We've created a monster. At least he's learning something on it. We make him play with his "real" toys too. :)

I turned 26 weeks on Friday. That means only 13 more weeks for me since I have a scheduled C-section for December 21st. I felt pretty good last week until Thursday. After lunch, around 1:00, I started feeling light headed and dizzy. I sat down and told my 3rd graders that I was going to be teaching sitting down the rest of the day. But about 10 minutes into that I just felt too out of it and weird. So I went to the nurse's office and asked her to take my blood pressure and told her how I was feeling. My blood pressure was good, if not a little low, so she made me eat some yogurt and drink some milk. I wasn't feeling any better about 30 minutes later so I called my doctor. The nurse told me to eat more and call back in 30 minutes because she said it sounded like blood sugar. I have problems with that when I'm pregnant if I don't eat every couple of hours and it's a completely different feeling than the one I was having but I went along with it anyway. I had some peanut butter and crackers and still not any better. I called back and she told me not to drive but to have someone come pick me up, take me home, get in bed, and rest for the remainder of the night. If my symptoms got worse I would need to go get checked out. So Keith came and picked me and Vince up and I did just that. I still felt a little dizzy all night and a little when I woke up but it seemed to go away pretty quickly.

So off to work I went feeling ok. We didn't have time to eat breakfast so we stopped at McDonald's on the way to school. I had an egg mcmuffin and an orange juice. I ate it when I got to work and felt fine until about 9:15. It hit me like a freight train. All of a sudden I felt extremely nauseous among other things. I got the kids set up for the Reading test they were taking that day and made a mad dash for the bathroom. It was not pretty! I only had 20 more minutes until the kids went to Art so I figured I could make it that long. Nope. I ran back to the bathroom again. This time when I came out I went straight to my principal's office. I'm sure I had a look of panic on my face because she immediately said, "What's wrong?" I told her what was going on and she told me to call in for a sub and go home. So I went back to class, took my kids to Art, and did just that. I drove like a maniac all the way home, not caring if I got pulled over. I got home and proceeded to puke up everything I'd eaten the night before and that morning. It was awful! I felt much better after that so I got in bed and rested for a little bit. I got thirsty and hungry, since I'm pregnant, so I drank some (okay a lot) of water and ate some Tostitos. We didn't have any crackers. I laid back down and slept for a little bit. When I woke up my stomach was still feeling awful but I didn't really feel nauseous anymore so I decided to go find a little something else to eat. Maddox was hungry. :) So instead of the soup that I could have eaten, my smart self chose Keith's strawberry pop tarts to eat. I would come to regret that decision about 30 minutes later. I sat in bed, knowing it was coming, trying to deny it, thinking maybe if I just lay a different way or just went to sleep that the awful feeling would just go away. If only! I leaped out of bed just barely making it to the toilet. The gallons of water I drank because I was so thirsty were first and then those lovely pop tarts. I didn't eat anything after that until Keith got home with my Sprite, Gatorade, and saltines. I felt pretty awful the rest of the day but no more pukies after that. Keith wasn't feeling so hot either. No pukes, just the other lovely stuff. I told him to suck it up and deal because I was sick first AND I'm pregnant so he loses the sick game. :) Maybe this is fair, maybe it's not. Pregnant woman didn't care. Besides, men are such babies when they are sick so I know for a fact that his wasn't as bad as mine. :)  Anyway, I felt much better on Saturday and Sunday was fine so it was just a 24 hour bug. And Vince dodged it, thank you Lord. I wouldn't wish that upon anyone much less my child. And the thought of cleaning my poor baby's throw up from everything was not appealing either. I'm hoping we all have a normal, boring week. I'm not up for any more surprises.

On a happier note, Maddox is now 15 inches long and about 2 pounds. At least that's what the baby book says. He can hear my voice now and I'm sure he really enjoyed the throw up show. I bet that woke him up a little bit. It couldn't have been too comfortable for him either.

I'm so busy at school and home that I don't pay attention to his movements as much as I did Vince's, so when I do finally sit down and he doesn't move, I freak out a little. I'm sure he's been moving a little all day but since I'm not as attuned to it, I get nervous if he doesn't move on command. :) When he does move though, you can definitely see it on the outside. I can't wait to meet this little one. I feel much more confident this time around since we've done it before and he's a boy. I know what to do with boys. :)  So that's all for now. I'll try to post a belly pic soon. Probably around 28 weeks after my dr. appointment so I can just update on it all.
