Otis and Stinky Face

Every night before we go to bed we read I Love You Stinky Face and Otis. Vince calls the first one, "Face". And Otis is , "Otith". He can't quite say his S's, L's, or R's yet. It's so cute. He will let me read all of Stinky Face without interrupting. He likes to say the words with me but we get through the whole thing. With Otis, he just wants to look at the first 3 or 4 pictures and then be done with it. Otis is about a little farm tractor who gets traded in for a big, fancy, yellow tractor. But Otis made friends with a calf who was taken away from his mama and they slept in the barn together. Vince was actually letting me read Otis the other day and we got to the part where Otis is traded in and there is a picture of Otis and he is very sad. Vince made me stop on that page and he would say, "Oh no Otith, oh no. Then he would start fake crying. Every time I tried to move on he would turn the page back to that one. He was enthralled with it. Finally he let me go on and we got to a picture of Otis happy again and so I said Otis is happy now. I turned it back to the sad page and told him he was sad. Then happy again. Anyway, he now says Otis sad, Oh no Otith and then right after he smiles real big and says Otith happy. I just think it is too cute and so crazy that he is already learning things like that. How is he growing up so fast??? He knows a lot of his shapes already too. If I draw a heart he will say heart. Same thing for triangle, star, and oval. He is obsessed with DVD's and watching movies. He changes his mind every 5 seconds and wants to watch something else. His faves right now are "The Lorax" (the 1977 version), Up, Veggie Tales, Tangled (yeah, yeah I know that's a chick movie but it's got boy stuff in it too. Plus I love the music! I make myself feel better by saying if he had a sister he would be watching both kinds of movies so there). Nemo and Rio are still great but those are on the back burner right now. He knows how to open the DVD player, take the movie that's in it out, put the new movie in, and push play. Seriously??? And yes I realize my child watches way too much t.v.  So sue me. He loves his puzzles still and he LOVES to be outside more than anything. We still do sidewalk chalk even though he's had a reaction to the chalk. We figured out it was only the stuff that is super pigmented so we just stay away from that and use the lighter colors. That boy would be outside all hours of the day if he could.
He's become pretty picky about eating lately. Some days he will eat everything in sight and others he only nibbles a little bit. I guess that's part of being a toddler. He seems to be growing ok so I won't worry about it unless he stops.
He loves giving kisses and he will talk to anyone. He's not anything like I was when I was little. I was super shy and wouldn't talk to anyone. He says bye to anyone anytime we leave anyplace. The grocery store, out to eat, wherever. He's so funny. I love this little boy soooo much!!!
