59 Days and Swollen Feet

I can't believe my feet look like this!  Where is my ankle???

I just looked at my countdown and I only have 59 more days until this little guy gets here.  I can't wait!  My body is ready too. :)  My poor fingers look like sausages and my feet...well, let's just say I officially have cankles. Notice the beautiful pic above.  Not pretty!  I have 2 pairs of shoes that fit me.  Actually, 3 now since I just bought those lovely little silver things yesterday.  I have searched high and low for a pair of shoes that are comfortable...since I am on them all day...and that will fit my fat feet.  I guess I should say foot since my right one is the monster.   Even most of the wide shoes won't go over my foot.  So frustrating.  I finally found some Dr. Scholls yesterday that fit.  Not really cute, but at this point, who cares??

I go to the doctor on Wednesday.  I don't really think anything exciting happens at this one.  Just a check-up to see how everything is progressing.  I have been having some pretty intense Braxton Hicks contractions here lately.   They feel so weird.  My stomach gets super hard and it feels like he's just a big giant ball in there.  I can feel around on my stomach now and feel parts of him which is really freaky.  He likes to kick me in the ribs and I can feel when he gets the hiccups...I love it!  It's so cute.  Not the rib part...the hiccup part.  I also get really winded now when I'm talking at school.  I'll be explaining something to the kids and have to breathe really hard and take breaks.  I hate that.  My kids have been really into the belly here lately.  They were very respectful at first and never really touched it without asking.  I thought they would be all over it but I think they were too scared or something.  Once I told them they could touch it if they wanted, they started going crazy.   I don't mind though.  They like to ask me all sorts of questions about him.  One little boy likes to tell me ALL the time that he thinks the baby is sleeping.  He's the one that said, "I always wanted a little brother" when I told them I was having a little boy.  :)  I don't think he realizes that the baby is not going to be coming home with him.

I am getting tired of people asking "when are you due again", and then looking at me like I've grown two heads when I tell them I still have two months left.  I get it people...I'm huge.  And I'm just going to get even more huge.  Get over it!  I'm freakin 5ft tall and have the smallest torso ever...where else is he going to go but out???   I look in the mirror every day and see myself so I'm pretty sure I know I'm ginormous.  It's like they have to tell me so they make sure I'm aware.  I know they don't mean any harm by it but seriously...stop already!  Sorry, just had to get that out.

One last thing.  My Aunt Leslie and Uncle Chris read this blog and I just wanted to let them know that I got their package and I loved all of it.  The toys, clothes, maternity clothes, and much more that they sent me was perfect.  I have been meaning to send a thank you note but keep forgetting.  I love you guys and thanks for thinking about us! :)

Until next week,
Jen

  2. I know you feel "ginormous" (is that really a word?) but to the rest of us you look beautiful. I agree with Jill - your poor feet! Your toenails sure look pretty though! You and Jill are absolutely beautiful and have such a wonderful glow about you that no makeup can recreate. Just think - in two more months you will be holding Vince in your arms and looking at his baby face and all of this will be SO worth it! Hang in there. :) Love you!

  3. Ouch girl :( I know you've been complaining about them, but the picture really shows how much pain you have been in - I agree with Jan though, your toenails look damn good. I had bad swelling with Jolie, not with Nina though...it was weird and definitely NOT comfortable. I so wish I would have taken a picture to look back on...everyone is so right...hang in there because before you know it he'll be in your arms and you'll probably miss the little punches and kicks from the inside :) You looked wonderful Friday and I can't wait to share an adult beverage with you again :) For now I'll just drink one for you!!! Give Vince a little rub from me :)

    Love - Mandy
