Is it or isn't it???

As most of you know, I can be a little neurotic.  Just a little bit.  I'm a bit of a hypochondriac also, so it's no surprise that I had my first pregnancy scare yesterday.  I AM proud of myself though that I even lasted this long without calling the doctor's office freaking out about something.  I mean, I made it 19 whole weeks!  That's gotta count for something.  :)  So, yesterday after school, I  decided that I was leaking amniotic fluid.   I know, I know...really???  But it does happen and I was scared.  I won't go into details, but it was not a nice feeling.  I called my doctor's office and ask to speak to a nurse.  They were busy of course (I wasn't expecting to get to talk to her right away) so she had to call me back.  This was about 3:00.  I call my mom almost in hysterics so she can calm me down.  She has always been able to do that.  Thanks mom! :)    She told me to quit freaking out, go home, and relax and wait for the nurse to call me back.  So I did.  The nurse called at about 4:00 and told me to come in so they could check me out.  Keith was on his way home, so I waited for him to take me.  Turns out everything was fine.  I freaked out for nothing.  Doesn't surprise me...story of my life.  Anyway, she wanted to do an ultrasound to see if the baby was doing okay and if there was the right amount of amniotic fluid.  After I realized we were ok, I started getting really excited that we were going to get to see the baby that day.  I haven't seen the little one since 8 weeks and I have been DYING of anticipation waiting to find out what it is.   She asked me if we'd had our gender scan yet and of course we haven't.  Then she said that if she could tell what it was, would we want to know today.  Are you kidding me???  Of course we want to know!  So Keith and I go to the ultrasound room and are so excited.  When it first came on the screen, we were both just so quiet, taking it all in.  She started telling us what things were and what part of the body we were looking at.   We could pretty much tell what most things were since the baby has grown so much.  It's little heart was going a hundred miles an hour and it was moving all over the place.   So cool.  By far the most awesome thing I have seen so far. :)  Our baby.  And we could actually tell that it was a baby and not just a little blob on the screen. :)  Okay, I know I am killing some of ya'll by not telling what it is yet.  The reasoning is because we can't be 100% for sure yet.  The little toot had it's legs crossed and when we did get to the part where it would have been visible,  HE had his little hand on his crotch!!  Really???  It's like he knew we were cheating and weren't supposed to know yet, so he wasn't showing.  I keep calling the baby a he because the doctor said that since he had his hand on his crotch, she was about 90% positive it was a boy.  A BOY!!  We won't know for sure until next Thursday, but we are almost positive that this little one is a boy.  And Keith swears up and down that he saw a penis. :)  We are VERY excited and can't wait to find out for sure.   Of course now I need to get busy picking out boy things.  All the girl things were picked out because it is so much more fun shopping for girls. :)  We haven't bought anything yet and don't plan to until we know for sure just to be on the safe side.  It still could turn out to be a girl.  Maybe she is just very modest. :)  I will be sure to post on Thursday and let you know for sure.

We'll just have to wait and see.

  4. Well, one thing is for sure - it is one or the other. :) Doesn't matter to me - just as long as the baby is healthy. We'll spoil it no matter if it's a boy or a girl.
