9 Months

We had our 9 month appointment yesterday. This boy weighs 19 1/2 pounds and is 28.8 inches long. He's in the 50th percentile for weight and the 70th percentile for height. Still a big boy. He's really leaned out though and rocking him to sleep at night is getting to be hard for me. Actually it's not the rocking that's hard. It's the lifting him over his crib and placing him gently in it that is killing me. There have been times where I almost drop him in it he's so heavy and long. And I'm so short. :) Technically he doesn't need to be rocked but I can't help myself. I love being snuggled up to him when he's sleeping because I don't get snuggles otherwise. He's waayy to interested in things going on around him to want to give snuggles to momma during the day.

Vince has really started to come into his own lately. He gets really vocal when he wants something now or when I take something away from him that he wants. He loves my Iphone and constantly wants to play with it. I give it to him every now and again and when I take it away you would think that I pinched him or something.  It's too funny. And bratty! :) Speaking of pinching, this little toot has taken to pinching me when it's nap time or time to go to sleep. Not all the time. Seems to be only when he's fighting it of course. It is deliberate too. He will pinch me and look at me like, "Can you feel that momma?? I don't want to go to sleep!"

He does sweet things too though like say momma when he wants me. I love it! And of course when he is too tired to fight it, he is very lovey then. He lays on my chest and looks up at me with those big blue eyes and I just melt.  That's why I still rock him to sleep. He doesn't need it. But I do. He will be too big soon and I will miss these days. So I am going to take advantage of it while it lasts.

He's not on the move yet although it won't be long I'm afraid. Literally, I'm afraid!! I need to baby proof this house before it happens and I'm not looking forward to that. He has been sitting up and playing for a couple of months now but he hasn't been interested in moving. It took him forever to roll from his stomach to his back and even longer from his back to his stomach but now that he can, he does it all the time. He now goes from sitting position to tummy and then rolls from his tummy to his back. He wants to crawl, you can tell, but he just doesn't know how yet. He kind of looks like he's swimming. Hilarious!

I don't remember if I posted this before but he has a couple of sounds he makes all the time. One is digold, digold, digold. The other is digoy, digoy, digoy. They must mean something to him and it is so funny listening to him talk. He says dada still and momma and the other day we were playing with a ball and I said ball a bunch of times and he tried to say it back to me. But that doesn't happen all the time. Just when he feels like it. He can tell the difference between his monkey and his frog. He can pick them out when I talk about them.

We've been feeding him finger foods now. Or I guess I should say that he's feeding himself. We still eat some baby food since I have a million jars that we are going to finish, but he eats table food as well. He loves those Gerber puffs things that taste like banana or strawberry. He likes the sweet potato ones too. They are kind of like cheerios but softer. He likes Cheerios too. He loves bananas, strawberries, yogurt melts, cheese, turkey, corn muffins, and crackers. He has tried watermelon, avocado, mango, cottage cheese, broccoli and cheese, and mashed sweet potato but he doesn't really know about these things yet. As a matter of fact he gagged on the sweet potato today. I don't know if it's the texture or what but he usually loves sweet potatoes. Momma gagged too and daddy said he didn't blame Vince for gagging so I guess he comes by it honestly. :) Sweet potatoes are so good for you. I wish I liked them but every time I try them, I hate them. Oh well. This boy definitely loves food! He drinks water from his sippy cup and every once in a while some juice mixed with water. He drinks little sips and the rest usually ends up all over the front of him but we're getting there.

I can't believe how fast he is growing and changing right in front of my eyes. Where did my baby go?? He's turning into a little boy too fast. His little face is really starting to look like a little boys to me. His hair cracks me up. It just grows into the shape of a mohawk. It's starting to come in on the sides some more but it mostly just grows in the middle. We went to the grocery store the other day and the greeter told me she loved what I'd done with his hair. I told her I didn't do it, it just grows that way. Like I would shave my 9 month olds hair into a mohawk! :) People are funny.

Okay well now that I have written a book, here are a million pictures that we've taken over the past week or two. Oh and this week was spring break. I had so much fun with my little man and now it's going to be hard to leave him and go back to work again. I will miss our morning and afternoon nap. And yes I did say "our". It has been great! Only a couple more months until summer so we can do it. And I am lucky that I even get these times off to spend with my baby. Adios!

Jen

I can do it all by myself!

Love this boy

Daddy loves my shirt!

Here I go. Fall over first...

Then flop over on my belly...

Mommy and me

Again

Mommy actually gave me a mohawk this time. :)

I love my letters.

Spike

I love my ducky.

Teeth!

How you doin??

I fell over again.

Mommy thinks I look like a little boy and not a baby in this picture.

New outfit Granny Jan bought me. My first pair of cargo shorts. :)

Mommy's favorite picture of us so far.

She likes this one too though.

Mommy keeps putting these ridiculous hats on me. I just take it off when she's not looking. :)

I don't know about these shoes either.

Mmmm...tasty though.

I love bathtime.

Hey what's over there?

See my funny hair. :)

Moobs. :)

See ya'll later.
