4 Months

Wow!  4 months already.  We go to the doctor on Wednesday for his 4 month check-up and shots.  I'm pretty sure he is going to be in the 17-18 pound range already.  My baby boy loves to eat! :)  He is becoming more and more outgoing.  He loves to smile at everyone now.  If you get up in his face and talk to him, he will smile and talk to you.  I love it!  Tummy time doesn't bother him as much now.  Especially when I prop him up on his boppy.  His eyes follow everything now.  Before, when he would sit in his swing or on the floor, I had to get up close to him for him to know I'm there.  Now, his eyes follow us everywhere. :)  He loves his "Sophie" raffee.  He gnaws on her quite a bit and can even hold her for a little bit all by himself.  He is the best baby, only crying when he wants some attention or when he's hungry.  And I wouldn't call it a full out cry.  Kind of a whimper.  Not that he doesn't know how to wail, it just doesn't happen very often at all.  He's not fond of the car seat.  If someone is in the backseat, he doesn't mind as much, but he definitely does not like being by himself back there.  I don't blame him.  I think of the carseat as kind of torture chamber for babies.  I know he needs it and all and it is there to keep him safe, but still.  I wouldn't want to be stuffed into that thing either. :)  He still loves his bathtime.  He pretty much gets everything soaked.  We have been practicing rolling over.  He's not interested yet but I don't even know if he's supposed to be.  He loves the toys that light up.  We have a ball that rolls around by itself, lights up, and talks to him.  He is highly entertained by it.  I read to him quite a bit and he will look at the book for about 5 seconds but I still do it anyway.  He's finally noticed the TV and we let him watch when we are getting ready for work.  He loves it!  We watch Nick Jr.  So far our favorite shows are the Wonder Pets, Yo Gabba Gabba, and some new Asian cartoon.  I forget what it's called.  Those are the shows that always seem to be on when we watch.  I joined the Disney movie club because I want to collect all the old movies along with some of the new ones.  I have alot of the princessy movies so we had to get some of the ones that weren't so girlie.  I've been rocking him to sleep at night and I sing to him.  For some reason,  he gets the Little Mermaid songs the most.  I can't help it.  It's my favorite Disney movie and I know all the songs.  My favorite is "Part of this World".  Keith doesn't really know what to think about it but oh well.  It's not like I'm going to force him to watch it or anything.  :)

And yes I rock my baby to sleep every night.  I can just hear some of you out there gasping.  "Don't you know that he is never going to go to sleep all by himself and that you are just setting yourself up for hardships later on"?  Oh and he still sleeps in our bedroom in his play yard even though he sleeps through the night now.  "You mean you don't put him in his crib yet?  You should have started that a long time ago.  He'll never want to sleep in his own room now. And you will never get any sleep either.  Babies make too much noise and you will be up all the time wondering what he's doing."  Whatever people. I would be up all the time checking on him to see that he was ok if he was in the other room.  Everyone has different parenting styles and just because mine is not like yours does not mean that it is bad.  I work all day and only get to see my baby at night, so if I want him to sleep in the same room as me, get over it!  If I want to spend an extra 20 minutes a night spending quality time with my baby, then I will.  In the end he will be fine and I will not be that mother that lets her child walk all over her just because I rock him to sleep and let him sleep in my room.  I'm not ready yet.  Someday I will be, but not today.

Anywho, sorry about that.  I get really defensive about those things for some reason.  I forgot to update about his noggin.  We went back to the helmet guy and there has been a little bit of a change.  His head is a little better, but not much.  He said we were to call him and make an appointment for November or December and we will go from there.  He said there is 50/50 chance of either having a helmet or not having one.  Let's pray for the not having one.  I have a hard enough time getting his clothes on and off of him without adding a helmet to the mix. :)  I kid, I kid.  We don't want Vincey to have to go through that.  Even though he won't remember.  It can't be comfy.  We will update more then.  I will leave you with some recent pics.  Love you all.

Look at what a big boy I am!

Watchin Nick Jr.

I just love my Sophie Raffee

There he goes again with that T.V. stuff! :)

Yum Yum

And one of my favorites.  Ppffftttt!  He gave his nose a carpet burn by rubbing it back and forth at the baby sitters. Poor baby!  It's all better now though.

  1. Love the new pictures and the new blog background - its very soothing. Quit worrying about that you think people are saying - heck, most parents have their kids in bed with them for several years. He's a sweet boy and I don't blame you for rocking him to sleep.

  2. I found your blog through Mandy's and have read a few times since she posted the pictures she took of your little man. I just wanted to tell you your sleeping arrangements are just fine! Parents have to do what works best for them and what they are most comfortable with. I have gotten plenty of comments and opinions about not making my son cry it out and fall asleep on his own, so I know how that is. Your little guy is a cutie :)
